Registered Letter

A registered letter is designed for sending communications or small articles within the Slovak Republic and abroad to which you require the service “Registered“.

You can use it for:
  • sending written, sound, pictorial or graphical communications,
  • communications can be sent on any kind of physical media (paper, card, CD, DVD).

Transit time
  • Letters within the Slovak Republic:
    1st Class Letter - D+1 (delivery on the next working day after the day of posting)
    2nd Class Letter - D+2 (delivery on the second working day after the day of posting)
    Registered Letter for blind - D+2 (delivery on the second working day after the day of posting)
  • Letters abroad:
    assumed transit times of letters addressed abroad depend on a respective country of destination
Weight
  • up to 2 kg
    Registered letter for blind up to 7 kg
Size
  • letter of regular shapes:
    minimum: 14 x 9 cm
    maximum: sum total of length, width, and thickness shall be max. 90 cm, while the biggest dimension shall not exceed 60 cm
  • letter of irregular shapes:
    minimum: distance of two furthermost edge points of an item shall be min. 14 cm
    maximum: distance of two furthermost edge points of an item shall be max. 60 cm

Posting procedure back

  1. The registered letters shall be posted only in a close wrapping that you can buy also at a post office (e.g. an envelope).
  2. Write out an address of a recipient and an address of a sender.
  3. Write the same data into the Certificate of Posting (receipt, posting sheet) that is available at each post office.
  4. For an expedite transit time, mark the item with the note „1. trieda“ (for items abroad with the note „1. Classe“), in the left upper quarter of the address side or ask for this category at the post office.
  5. Attach to the registered letters abroad that are subject to customs procedure the Customs Declaration CN 22 completed. If you send more articles in the registered item or if their amount is higher than 300 DTS, use the Customs Declaration CN 23. Forms of Customs Declarations are available at each post office.
  6. Post the registered letter at a counter of a post office.
  7. The registered letters shall not be posted by slotting in post-boxes of Slovenská pošta.
